Director of Technology and Data Analytics

A newly created senior leadership role: lead the group’s technology strategy, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and data analytics, and build the engineering and data team in Dublin.

What the role is responsible for

• –Develop and implement the group’s technology strategy in line with its business objectives, growth plans and operational requirements.
• –Lead the architecture, design and development of the enterprise platform: booking, crew accommodation, operations, invoicing and travel management systems.
• –Oversee cloud infrastructure, system integration, engineering standards, data pipelines and platform scalability.
• –Direct data analytics, business intelligence, machine learning and AI-driven solutions that improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
• –Lead integrations with airline, travel-distribution and hospitality systems, including GDS, NDC and supplier APIs.
• –Establish, develop and lead the engineering and data team in Ireland: recruitment, structure, technical training and performance.
• –Manage technology projects, priorities, resources and delivery schedules to quality standards and agreed deadlines.
• –Establish technology governance, cybersecurity, access control, data management and GDPR compliance for the Irish and EU operations.
• –Evaluate emerging technologies, methods and industry trends for innovation, automation and continuous improvement.
• –Translate business requirements into technical solutions and long-term technology plans with the CEO and stakeholders.
• –Oversee system performance, technical risk, troubleshooting and the reliability, security and availability of the platforms.
• –Engage with clients, technology partners and suppliers in Europe and the Middle East on requirements and integrations.

What we are looking for

• –A bachelor’s degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in software development, computer science, information technology or a closely related discipline.
• –At least 15 years’ professional experience in software engineering, enterprise technology, software architecture, cloud platforms or technology management, including at least 10 years in senior technology leadership (CTO, Technology Director, Head of Engineering or equivalent).
• –Demonstrable experience leading technology strategy, designing enterprise SaaS platforms and managing complex technology projects.
• –Proven experience delivering technology for the aviation or travel sector, including airline or private-aviation operations such as crew accommodation, travel management and operations systems.
• –Experience working with clients in the Middle East and GCC market, with an understanding of regional business practices and operating requirements.
• –Experience in data analytics, machine learning, AI-driven applications or data-intensive solutions.
• –Knowledge of cybersecurity, technology governance, data management and GDPR.
• –Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, project management and stakeholder communication skills.

• –A master’s degree in data science, analytics or a related field.
• –Experience with travel-industry distribution and integration standards (GDS, NDC, booking and invoicing systems).
• –Experience founding, scaling or leading technology operations in a growth-stage company.
